Marugame Udon, the world’s largest udon noodle chain, is about to make its debut in the UAE. Known for its freshly made Sanuki-style udon, the Japanese brand has over 1,100 outlets worldwide — and now it’s setting its sights on the Gulf.

The first UAE branch is opening soon in Dubai, with a clear ambition to expand. The company has announced plans to open 10 locations across the UAE in the next five years, offering residents and visitors access to fast-casual Japanese dining with a focus on authenticity and quality.

The menu at Marugame Udon Dubai is built around its signature bowls of hand-pulled udon noodles served in flavourful brothsall Halal-certified to ensure the dining experience is inclusive and accessible to everyone.

To celebrate the UAE launch, the restaurant is also introducing exclusive regional dishes tailored to local preferences.

  • Vegetarian Japanese Curry Udon: a rich, plant-based curry perfect for vegetarian diners
  • Spicy Maze Udon: a dry udon packed with bold spices, ideal for those who enjoy intense flavours
  • Chicken Katsu Curry Udon with crispy chicken cutlet over Japanese curry and noodles
  • Teriyaki Chicken Udon

Guests can also visit the condiment station, which features free green chili to adjust the heat level to taste — a nod to local spice preferences.

With an emphasis on fresh preparation, regional inclusivity, and rapid growth, Marugame Udon’s entry into the UAE adds something new to the Japanese dining scene — and brings a globally loved favourite closer to home. Stay tuned for opening dates and more details on where the next branches will pop up.
